Project Eshet Hayil

76″ x 42″ Mixed Media, Silver Leaf and Acrylic Paint

This painting, titled Legacy, Eshet Hayil in honor of Janche Galicot, is a tribute to a woman of great integrity whose life and legacy continues to leave an indelible mark on our community. This art work aims not only to beautify this space but also to reflect the essence of her values, her dedication, and her love for others.

As an artist, I feel a responsibility not only to express what I carry within through art but also to use this platform to contribute to our culture, our roots, and the legacy we share. Every stroke, every figure I have painted in this piece holds deep meaning, because my goal is not just to create something visually pleasing, but to evoke emotions and thoughts that will inspire future generations to honor our traditions, our history, and, above all, the people who have given so much for our community.

This artwork reflects Janche's deep commitment to our heritage. The main goal of this work is to elevate a woman of honor, someone who earned the respect and love of all through her dedication and love for others. She was a teacher, a guide, and a beacon of light in many ways, helping children, women, and entire families. This painting reflects those values: peace, family, commitment to education, love for our history, and our Jewish traditions.

This painting serves as a reminder to honor and preserve our roots for future generations. I am profoundly grateful to the Women's International Zionist Organization (WIZO), San Diego Jewish Academy, the Ken Jewish Community, and my family for their support in bringing this project to life.

May this painting inspire us all to uphold the values of our faith, our history, and the people who dedicate their lives to serving others.

My greatest hope is that this piece will inspire future generations to cherish our history, our traditions, and the people who, like the woman we honor today, have dedicated their lives to serving others.
